Caring for your Custom Prints
Most products are manufactured by 3D printing them out of polylactic acid (PLA), an organically derived, nontoxic thermoplastic that has good rigidity and is excellent for high-detail decorative prints and utility items that don't need to handle severe loads or environments.
To ensure your PLA products last:
- Avoid putting PLA items in hot water. While even ambient temperature water or high humidity can degrade prints over a long period of time, the typical lifetime is several years.
- Direct sunlight and high heat can cause PLA to become brittle and to warp. This is particularly a concern for thin parts like premium lithophane, and the reason that I only sell frames with LED backlights. Additionally, lithophanes look best when out of direct lighting from other sources.
- Do not use to serve food or drinks, or give to pets or small children who may try to eat it.
